2003 Pax Syrah, Lauterbach Hill, Russian River Valley

Always a standout, the 2003 is no exception. A poor fruit set meant very low yields, and very high concentration. The wine is fantastic, but unfortunately we will be able to bottle only a fraction of wine in 2003 as compared to our two prior vintages.

Tasting Note:
Bacon fat, leather, crème de mure and lavender intermingle on the aromatics. The palate follows the aromas and adds more exotic lilac, fresh blackberries, chemise tar and flowers. Lush Tannins give the wine dimension and added structure.
