2003 Pax Rousanne, Venus, Bennett Valley

Roussanne is a white grape variety indigenous to the Rhone Valley of France. Wines made from this unsung grape variety are rich, waxy, loaded with minerals, intense, long lived and exotic. This should make it easy for you to understand why we chose this to be the varietal that we wanted to work with. White Hermitage typically contains varying degrees of Roussanne, while the white wines from Chateuneuf-du-pape are predominately Roussanne with the most prestigious examples being 100%. Our 2003 Venus is more reminiscent of the fuller richer wines from Chateuneuf-du-pape.
