2004 Pax Grenache / Mourvedre / Counoise / Syrah / Roussanne, Cuvee Moriah
Once again we utilized ten tiny and fabulously unique plantings around Sonoma & Mendocino counties to create this multi-layered Southern-Rhone inspired red wine. Darker than the 2003 and all together denser, the 2004 also has much less Syrah than our 2003, and reminds us more of the wines grown around the Pope's new house, south of Avignon.

Tasting Note:
Licorice, dried herbs, cassis and framboise on the nose. In the mouth, massive black and red fruits with tar, leather and rose petals that lead into building tannins and sweet dark scents of iodine and forest floor. A wine that I could sit and write descriptors for all day long. Delicious!
