2004 Pax Syrah, Kobler Family Vineyard, Russian River Valley

This bio-dynamically farmed Green Valley vineyard has exceeded our expectations again this year. 10% Viognier grown in an adjacent block was once again co-fermented with this Syrah.

Tasting Note:
Black tar, white peach, purple flowers (chemise?), iodine and cassis. In the mouth sweet violet pastilles, maduro tobacco, intense purple fruit and Chartreuse liqueur (V.E.P. of course). The finish is incredibly fine, with a beautiful integration of tannins, fruit, soil flavors, alcohol and acid. A very well behaved wine that is bigger than it knows.
