2004 Pax Syrah, Majik Vineyard
Majik Vineyard is 900 vines of Syrah planted on a ridgetop west of Sebastopol, squarely in the heart of the Sonoma Coast Appellation. Mary-Ann & Jim Kerchner planted and tend to these 900 vines with the care and attention to detail that would be impossible to duplicate in a standard commercial size vineyard. The soil is classic Sebastopol Series Goldridge, which is basically gold sand. The clone is a heritage California selection and the climate is coastal cool.

Tasting Note:
Pure aromas of crushed berries, fresh rose petals, violet pastilles, rhubarb and white pepper. In the mouth rich and expansive, with bright flavors of rhubarb, tart cherry, white flowers, pink peppercorns, lavender and exotic spice. Black raspberries, black cherry, intense pepper, brown spice and melted red licorice pick up and carry the wine through the long, clean and pleasantly dry finish.
