2006 Pax Syrah, Nelleson Vineyard, Sonoma Coast
A new vineyard for us in 2006, this Syrah will quickly become a very important part of our portfolio of wines. Located on the next ridge line north of Majik Vineyard, this south facing terraced hillside has tremendous potential. This wine has the aromas of Majik crossed with Castelli and the palate weight of Majik crossed with Kobler. If you're still with me…this is classic cool climate Syrah, not an overly thick concentrated red wine.

Tasting Note:
Savory anise, white pepper, sweet purple flowers and tamarind notes intermingle on the exotic aroma of this cool climate Syrah. The palate is tightly wound w/ tiny black berries, tart cherries, fruited tobacco, lard and brown spices. The finish is taunt with stem tannins and savory with pink-peppercorns with a snappy crispness that is a delightful surprise for a wine of this depth and persistence.
